Brake master cylinder or Clutch master cylinder
Brake master cylinder or Clutch master cylinder
In this category you will find all brake master cylinders and master clutch cylinders (giver). These cylinders can be new, including old-new stock, own new production, or repair. Whether used alone or in combination with a brake booster, the master cylinder essentially controls all brakes.
The main brake cylinder can be single-acting (contains 1 piston, all brakes are operated at the same time) or double-acting (tandem cylinder). In the second scenario, there are two pistons in the master cylinder and the car has two different brake circuits. The master clutch cylinder operates the auxiliary clutch cylinder. This combination allows for the disengagement when shifting gears.
In case of repair, the article number ends with REP. If that is the case, you might have to send the old cylinder to us first. If the repair item states that the brake master cylinder is immediately available, you can simply order it. In the shopping cart you will see old-unit, a deposit. We will refund this to you as soon as we have received your old cylinder. Repair involves blasting the house and nickel plating. If the cylinder wall is corroded too far, it is drilled out and a brass bush is placed. New rubbers and, if necessary, a new piston is also fitted. All repairs come with a 2-year warranty.
If there is a number on the old cylinder, it is also possible to search for the cylinder using the search function. There you can enter the casting number, the number that is on the housing. That way you can be sure that you are choosing the right cylinder. Always check the piston diameter carefully, as some casting numbers are used for multiple piston diameters!
The first three digits of the article number after the M indicate the size of the piston. Brake master cylinders are suitable for DOT 3, 4 and 5 (silicone). In addition, we also have cylinders that are suitable for LMH and mineral oil. This is what it says.
